a happy decision

I know, I know. I've been away from here for forever. Christmas, ya know? But now I need help. I have a mondo decision and don't know what to choose! Remember when I talked about my love of treehouse28? My wondrous Mom saw the post and purchased the wide leg pants for me for Christmas. Best. thing. ever. I wore them for 2 or 3 days straight before I decided I probably couldn't get away with it anymore. They're wondrous though. {I knew they would be!}

So now for the help. I generally can't justify spending much on non-basics like awesome clothing. But I can totally justify spending Christmas money on it! So I've decided to get the wrap top. I have a zillion "favorited" but keep coming back to this one. Alix has even said she'd make the thumbhole sleeves with it for me! {So the shirt above from the left and the sleeves from the right.} I'm way excited. {In case you couldn't tell.} Now I just have to pick a color. I'm down to 3. New rust, plum, or teal. Help!

Any opinions? I'm itching to order! {Then I just have to find some way to measure myself around work... }

recent clothing experimentation

I just mailed out a custom order of 5 of these babies today. Christmas presents. I think it's cool.



This maternity shirt is listed over in my shop {click pic to get to listing}. I have a medium and large left. They're not the best product photos, but they're kind of artsy and cool. I may re-take them in a few days. {Or I may not need to. I've sold 2 of the 4 I listed last night!}



The shirt below is my fav! It's a really pretty purple {deeper than the pic} and it has a few random hazy blue areas. You can see one a little to the left and below the words in this picture. If I was preggo and it'd fit me I'd be keeping it!



I've been getting uber tired of the brown maker shirts, so I decided to switch it up a bit. I'm having fun with color and some OOAK creations!

Also, tonight I'll be listing some more kiddo clothing. I need to get my new favorite set up. :) Ki's had it for a bit and it is one of Mike's favorite outfits of his.

New duds

I listed a few new things over on Etsy. I SO don't like my new pictures. They're kind of back to the way my old, boring pictures were. I like my clothes with people in them. But alas, I do not have a daughter or a baby. And I'd be dead meat if our sweet son was caught wearing girl clothes. {Not to mention he has a very boyish figure.} So I need to snag some pics from friends I've given clothes to. {Beware! I'm coming after you, my friends!} Also, if you've bought from me and want to send me your pictures, I'd love to use them!

And one of my favorite new things...a crib sheet! It's so cute! I wish I'd made them when Ki was in a crib. But he's a big boy now. Hmm...I should print on his sheets...

Tonight right after I get home from work I am going to run around {hoping Ki will chill and color} and finish a few shirts and pop them in the mail before 6. I want them out! And I need to work on my backtack project. I'm so pumped for it! I'm excited to send stuff out to my partner.

The best clothing staple...

Dude. Friends and homies. I have found the smartest person alive. Ya know all those times when you have to scrounge for an undershirt, make sure it matches, deal with being a hot {actually, I never have that problem I'm always cold!}, mess with the bunched up shirts over your belly... It's irritating.

I was browsing Etsy a week or two ago and I came across the coolest thing ever! It's called a t-let. It's kind of a mix between an undershirt and a sports bra, I guess. But oh so comfy and stretchy. It goes up high enough to work as an undershirt {in straight, scoop, or square neck}, but it stops down under the girls just like your bra. Now, this is not in place of a bra! It has little spaghetti straps and wouldn't hold much. But it does wonders.

I bought a white straight neck t-let and had to wear it today {it came yesterday}. Before work I even "checked" it by bending over and you couldn't see down my shirt even like that! It rocks. I can't even tell I'm wearing it and I don't have extra bulk and girth around my midsection. Seriously. And it's cheap, too. Probably less than a lot of tank tops you'd find. This is my new favorite staple. I couldn't wait to share it with you!

The t-let is made by Gettis Accessories, who is brand spankin' new to Etsy. {I was her first sale, but she's already sold 2 others since then.} These babies are only $15. Christmas Day 3

I'm finally jumping in and doing a post for MomDot's mega Christmas Giveaway. The first two I just felt like I needed to be home and by the time I'm there the rest of the day zips away from me and I'm too late. This one I can do at work though. :)

I have not started my Christmas shopping yet. I am a mega procrastinator with things like this and it drive me crazy! I hate it! Maybe I should start today? The past few years our gifts have been sporatic and small because we haven't had money for it. It drives me crazy. I absolutely love giving gifts. I'm pretty sure it's my love language and I kinda stink at it. I feel like I need money to give gifts, when if I am a good planner I can get creative and do it pretty cheap.

So this year, I plan to make a bunch of stuff, as well as purchase off of Etsy. {Oh how I love Etsy!} Unfortunately I can't share with you any plans, as pretty much everyone I know reads my blog. Well, maybe not everyone, but a bunch of people who shouldn't know what I'm getting them. We'll see if I make it to Christmas.

My other thing is I usually completely forget that I will probably get stuff too. I get so excited about giving things to other people and watching them open. I kinda like that though. I hope to teach my little man to put more into giving than receiving.

Do you ever find things that you keep coming back to? You want them...it's just the money? Yeah. Well here's one of mine.




But I think I may actually get some this time. I can usually only use dove soap. I get super itchy with anything else. So I'm excited for something new! Dove can be pricey anyway, so I may as well try something super cool and different, eh? (P.S. Lori, Mike says we can't be friends anymore. I've been saying "eh" too much!) So, since I have new monies in my PP account, I may just go order this, but I also want this and this... I'm a sucker for vanilla! Kinda nervous about those last two, but it's gotta be good with all their great feedback! So. I'll let ya know what ends up in my cart and how I like it. Yay for GudonyaToo! I'm excited for it.

family fest

I have been such a blog slacker lately. Acuallt I have been so incredibly busy! CT had it's first live presence this weekend! I worked a local family day. Unfortubately it wasn't much of a buying crowd, so not much was sold. However, I did have fun with my boddy who also sold there. It was a long day and we both got some sun (me = tan, Mandi = red, haha!). Mandi had me take her picture with every mascot she could find. The library dog/person, the college mascot, McGruff & a cop, Sparky (from AWANA), the clown... Yeah, she's a nut! I'm sure I'll have pics later.

In preparation for the big day I spent many hours printing and dyeing and racking my brain for what I'd need. It was a great experience and helped me figure stuff out for future events. I should be around more now that that is over. :)

Also to come, more t's (some babydoll) as soon as I get pictures of them. So keep an eye out!

mail call

I got a couple packages in the mail today. So fun! A while back I entered in a contest to win 3 DVDs. All I had to do was tell how my Mike proposed. So I guess it's really him who won... Pretty cool though! I got Notting Hill, Absolutely, Maybe & Love Actually. I've never seen Love Actually and from the reasons it's rated R, I'm not sure I want to. Have any of you seen it? Give me a heads up if you have!



My other package was SO much more exciting than I expected (although I was originally looking forward to it)! I'm getting a bunch of pottery from the lovely Vessels & Wares. Mike's designing her web site and I'm getting a bunch of custom work from VW as my birthday present from him. :) Perfect! Anyhoo, last week Jeanette said she was sending my color samples of my choices. I was expecting a little envelope of 3 bunny butt key chains or something. (And that had me all happy!) Well when I got home and saw the box, I was taken aback. I opened it up and was giddy. Lovely lovely work! Two little bowls and a small (salad) plate in my colors.





They were packaged SO well, there's no way they'd get harmed. So go order from her and feel super confident that it'll arrive perfect at your door. Such high quality! So I now own 4 VW items (after my mug) and have more to come. Wahoo! Thanks Jeanette!! LOVE them.

I don't think I ever showed you guys Ki's "stuffed boy" because heaven forbid our son own a doll... Tina of Baby be Blessed custom made him just for us! It's an old shirt of my dad's made into the little boy. (My nephew is the proud owner of an adorable monkey made out of another shirt. Maybe my SIL will post pics of her sweetie & monkey...hint hint!) Ki was so cute with his boy tonight. Hamming it up for me and hugging & kissing him.





All in all it's been a marvelous afternoon & evening! Spent time with my sweet little mister, got fun mail, & got some work done! Niiice.

Less than 48 hours until the shop re-opens. It's almost go time. Eek! Lots left to do. I am so excited for the new look. It's so much more polished, professional, and fun. Mike's editing my pictures marvelously. They're funky and hip and lovely. It's super. :) Here's a bit more of a teaser to give you a feel of the new "me".

I'm getting anxious, nervous, and excited about next Saturday. My grand re-opening! I've been printing (and dyeing) like mad today. New, fresh t's that make me smile. Some old designs with new colors. Like my Preggo shirt. I was getting so tired of that tan!



I also printed up some other new things. And since you're my special little blogging buddies I'll share a bit. Don't mind the mess...I was hard at work (playing preggo)!

unpresent presents

I'm trying to hold back. I've always been a saver, even growing up. I'd save money and then plan and buy big things I wanted. (Unlike my brothers who always had money to burn. Now!) Mike likes to get his presents right away too. He got a couple gift cards for some favorite restaurants for Fathers' Day and they're both gone. He's a goof.



For my birthday I got 3 things I have to pick. It's a double whammy problem. Savoring the gifts and a decision. Ack! After 2 weeks of nagging I finally picked my coffee corset on Monday. I'm excited to have "sexy coffee" like Mandi! (Plus Jenn was a dream to work with - SO friendly!)



I'm holding out on my Jewllori. I want to stagger my mail. It's always fun to get mail, so I want more mail days. Is that odd of me? Mike thinks I'm crazy and I should get everything right now.



And the biggest decision...I really need to make. For Jeanette's sake. I have to pick what I want! How many place settings should I get? I don't even know! Any tips/suggestions? I can still "order" and savor the gift. It'll take her time to make it and I'm sure it won't come the same day as my others. (It's really cool thinking someone's making pottery specifically for me!) I want this.



I feel anal today. It's probably there all the time, I just don't notice it.

Here it is. My call for cool stuff. Plus a glimpse inside my life. My hubby has type 1 diabetes (since age 3) and has many complications from it. We're just starting the process of getting a pancreas transplant, which would make him not diabetic (something he's never known) and has the possibility of reversing all of his side effects. This would be amazing for us, as he lives in pain daily.

Anyway, on with the story. I was searching Etsy for something cool and pancreas-y. Nothing. I found 1 magnet and 2 (pricey) embroidered pancreases. I was thinking about getting him something to celebrate. Maybe a cool shirt, a funny card, nothing super expensive. I also tried "diabetes" and all I found were medical alert bracelets & food. So - the call. Make something cool! I want to buy it. Ok? Organs are "in" right now. There are hearts and brains all over the place.

So get to work. Make me a pancreas.

I'm coming back! But you'll have to wait until July 12th. Think you can make it? It's my 1 year Etsy anniversary, so it seemed fitting. Plus having a date will help me stay on track. I'm pumped! Lots of work ahead of me, but I can do this. I still need to enlist a few people to be my models (including knocking my friend up with a blanket and having her play preggo...she looks good in "the motherly way").
