Just call me Crafty Caitlin

A few weeks ago Ki was not going down for his nap and I was frustrated. I went out to get some coffee and was playing the afternoon back in my head. Ki broke half his mini blinds {which I abhor} about a year ago. They've been halfway up since then. The other side has been all the way up so he doesn't break them {or hurt himself}. During his naptime it's so bright in there I can imagine having trouble sleeping. So I decided to finally make some curtains for my little man.

I think they turned out pretty cute -er- handsome!





Plus I did a super job matching Ki's sheets to the top of the curtains without them. Ki's been in his twin bed for a couple months now. We've just been using his little blankets to cover him up. I picked up a brown comforter for him and he just seems so much more like a boy, not a baby! I think it helps him stay in bed {as in not roll out} too.

I love making curtains. They're so easy to whip up an can completely change the look and feel of the room. Plus the nasty mini blinds are GONE! An uber easy thing to make a rental feel like home.

Birthday Cake!

My little man is officially 2! Yesterday he seemed like a baby still @ 1. But 2? That's a boy! Sad. :( So cute though.

All glazed {Thank you Christy!!}, frozen and ready to go. I missed a few sides and they were a bit more crumby than the glazed parts, which was so slick!

I just hope he recognizes them. If not, I'll be bummed. Happy birthday Little Man!! {Now I just have to wait for Mike to get home with my press & seal and I can cover them and hit the hay for a few hours!

all in a days work

I've been coming across a lot of giveaways lately. It's pretty cool. Bet you guys like it too, eh? (I think I should move to Canada, I'm diggin' the "eh" lately.) Yesterday I saw that Grosgrain had another adorable dress to give away. I really do wish she made little boy stuff (3T, ok?) because it's all so freaking adorable! It's a Pinata Pinafore and you can see it by clicking over there. Serious. Go now. (I really need a little girl!)

I also rediscovered a fun blog of a Canadian momma and Pastor's wife. She is always reviewing products (like this one of mine) and having scads of contests. I just entered to win my Ki some adorable shoes from See Kai Run. Fitting, right? I think I should totally win because of the name thing. They're not too expensive though. Not for all the time, but special occasion shoes. The ones I saw were in the $30's.

Creature Comforts

Ready, set, wait!

I want to fast forward a few days. I am so excited to get my next American Apparel order! I have some fun new ideas that I will be using on some items... But I have to sit and wait! I suppose I could be working on even more new designs, but I'm just ready to dye and PRINT! I do have a sweet shirt I got for Ki (my little man) on my last order that I need to print on. The sad thing is...I have not printed a thing for my poor boy! One thing for my hubby, one random whim for myself, and nothing for him. So he gets his own special design. I just need to get that on my screen.

Someday I'll show you all my little workspace. It's where I hang out about every evening with my favorite person while he makes web sites. ;) Anyhoo, stay tuned to my site. As soon as those shirts come in...

Artsy

I have a 16-month-old little man. He has a oodles of energy. Any crafty ideas? I recently melted crayons and molded them into large crayons in cool shapes. He does much better with those than with regular (or even large) crayons. His drawings look more like rubbings. He enjoys coloring with them. Anyway, I bought finger paints a few days ago...kinda nervous for that adventure! I think we'll try them out this weekend. Do/did you do crafts with your munchkins? I need more ideas! So, drop me a note in the comments and let me know what fun things you guys like. We need some artsy fartsy-ness.
